Alfonso Artiaco gallery is pleased to announce the inauguration of the personal exhibition of Bianco-Valente Materia Prima on Friday 28 March at 7.30 pm, in the presence of the artists.
"The ambitions, desires, fears and all the feelings that animate our interiority are the raw material that actually generates and maintains the dense connective network of social and human relationships."
The fourth solo show (2000, 2002, 2003) by Bianco-Valente, in the spaces of the Alfonso Artiaco Gallery, is an attempt to reconstruct the invisible relationships that bind people to places and to other individuals, in a continuous exchange between geographical mapping and mapping symbolic. A reflection on the awareness of acting, living and operating in a "network" that links one event to another, even in the changing nature of free choice.
Raw material can thus be considered the new fruit of the RSM artistic and life project, linked to travel and astral influences, which Bianco-Valente have undertaken since 2001 to verify on themselves the validity of an ancient astronomical theory. / astrological recoded in the seventies by the Italian researcher Ciro Discepolo.
Starting from the apparent motion of the Sun as seen from the Earth, and moving to certain points on the globe at the completion of the astronomical birthday, it would be possible in some way to control the trends of future events. This experimentation has so far brought the two artists to Brazil, India, Morocco, Siberia, the Azores islands, Australia, Central Russia, Yucatan, Canada, Singapore, greatly enriching their travel experiences. Their next destination will be, in a few weeks, the city of Concepción in Chile.
Bianco-Valente (Giovanna Bianco, 1962 - Pino Valente, 1967) companions in life and art since the mid-nineties, they operate in a border area between antithetical concepts, such as body / mind and natural / artificial. In a continuous dualistic dialectic, the artists seek the point of contact that indissolubly binds these domains, through video-installations, photos, digital drawings, sound installations. The electronic medium thus opens up to a world of revealing images of human thought and mind.
