Gianmarco Biele was born in Benevento (Italy) in 1992.

Working across sculpture, painting, photography, video, and site-specific environmental interventions, Biele's practice explores the relationship between the natural and the artificial, examining points of continuity and contradiction between the two. After graduating in Sculpture from the Academy of Fine Arts of Naples in 2019, he developed a research-based practice that moves across different media, from painting, photography, and video to the conception of environmental works. More recently, his research has extended to the study of materials through both his artistic practice and his involvement in conservation and restoration projects.
