On the occasion of the 20 years of activity of the Alfonso Artiaco gallery, the Pan | Palazzo delle Arti Napoli presents Dedica an exhibition curated by Julia Draganovic.
Dedication, intends to pay - through the over 30 artists involved - a tribute to the work of the gallery owner, one of the major players in the development and promotion of contemporary art in the Naples area.
Alfonso Artiaco began his exhibition activity in Pozzuoli in 1986, opening a gallery in a place far from the usual geography of the art system.
The numerous exhibitions organized over time have involved important international presences, some of which have chosen Pozzuoli as the place for their first exhibition in Italy, and allowed young artists to obtain visibility and recognition. The propositional line of the Alfonso Artiaco Gallery has entered an international panorama, placing the periphery-center dualism in the background. In 2003 the Alfonso Artiaco gallery moved to Naples in Piazza dei Martiri continuing its research there.
In Dedica we find many of the artists who in recent years have worked together with Alfonso Artiaco to make a new artistic and aesthetic contribution and to confirm the ancient bond with the city of Naples and the international artistic world.
In addition to exemplary works for their respective artistic paths, the exhibition also presents works specifically designed for the event and for the spaces of the Pan and presents both works by the artists of the gallery and new proposals that will exhibit in the next season with Artiaco. Through painting, sculpture, installations, photos and videos, the exhibition offers a wide range of artistic expressions that will be documented in a catalog published by Electa Napoli.
